Oman is an important strategic environment in Persian Gulf and the strait of Hurmoz for Iran in respect of various dimensions particularly in geopolitical and defensive factors. Meanwhile, this study aims to determine the threatening geopolitical grounds effective in developing the IRI's defensive strategies in relation to Oman by means of analytical-descriptive method. Accordingly, it first conducts theoretical studies and examines the geopolitical environment of Oman and then gathers data by means of a questionnaire delivered to the sample (51 individuals). Following, it determines the related geopolitical factors affecting the development of defensive strategies in hexa-pronged dimensions including nature, human power, economy, home policy, international policy and military policy and then analyses the data. In the end, the effective geopolitical factors effective in development of the IRI's defensive strategies versus Oman are defined in a sequenced respect.
