This research entitled "the impact of south Caucasus geopolitical factors on the defense strategy of the Islamic Republic of Iran" after performing some theoretical and environmental studies of the south Caucasus countries aims to identify geopolitical factors related and affecting defense strategies in six dimensions of physical, social, cultural, economical, political and military, utilizing analytical methods. And then, in addition to consult some experts on the topic and defensive problems and obtaining their comments, the questionnaire was set and designed in order to obtain statistical society's comments. This questionnaire in the population of 50 people was fully issued and analyzed after receiving statistical society's comments, using statistical techniques and methods. So, following that, organization and evaluation of the research hypothesis was accomplished. At least, as a conclusion in response to the study question, geopolitical factors of the south Caucasus countries related to the defense issues in six dimensions which are effective in the defense strategy of the Islamic Republic of Iran, was determined in the form of 49 geopolitical factors.
