Knowledge, specially
for organizations which engage in environments fraught with uncertainty, is
recognized as a precious resource for growth and competitive advantage.
Accordingly, the IRI’s Ministry of Defense as a knowledge-based organization
lies in need to diverse methods and models for knowledge management in various
strategic and operational levels as well as in various domains including staff,
affiliated organizations and defense industries. In the same vein, this paper
mainly aims at achieving a strategic knowledge management model in the IRI’s
Ministry of Defense. This study is an applied-developmental research which
objectively selects the population in full enumeration and exploits Case-based
Method combinationally (quantity & quality)
and Thematic Analysis to achieve the purpose. Following, the outcome of
the study suggests that the strategic knowledge management model for the
Ministry of Defense and in accordance with strategy roadmap encompasses five
principal elements in the format of effective configuration for cause-effect
segmentation as: infrastructure of strategic knowledge management, strategic
processes of knowledge management, strategic spheres of knowledge, creation of
value for the beneficiaries, and creation of deterrent power and defensive
competence.
