Abstract
Ensuring national security, as a basic condition for the survival of countries, depends on the use of a wide range of elements of national power. Considering the influence of geographical and geopolitical location and characteristics on power and national security, the theoretical explanation of countries' approach to developing the capacities of privileged regions is important to ensure national security. Today, oceanic coastal areas have many security, political, economic and communication functions for countries, and their geopolitical and geostrategic importance is increasing at the local, national, regional and global levels. These regions can have a significant impact on the geopolitical weight and position of countries in international relations. This research has been done with the aim of theoretically explaining the influence of geographical and geopolitical factors of oceanic coastal areas on national security. The research is of fundamental type and its method is descriptive-analytical. To collect data and information, a library and document method was used, using a survey tool, and an expert survey method (21 top experts, at a strategic level) using a questionnaire. The results of the research show that the analysis of the impact of oceanic coastal areas on national security can be explained through two mediating variables "development" and "national power". The geographical and geopolitical characteristics of combined oceanic coastal areas (water and land), through the influence on the development indicators and also change the national power of the countries, in the form of seven spatial-spatial, political, economic, cultural, social, biological factors. environmental and military influence on their national security. The dimensions, components and indicators of the impact of oceanic coastal areas on national security have also been calculated, weighted and theoretically modeled.
