Mission Statement of Strategic Management Faculty of Su-preme National Defense University Regarding Faculty’s Prevalent Educational System

Abstract

The present study has been conducted with the aim of preparing the mission statement, with a futuristic vision, at the strategic management level for the Strategic Management Faculty of the Supreme National Defense University. Enjoying a practical and developmental nature, the present study has been done in an integrated fashion (qualitative and quantitative with a descriptive design). The statistical population of the present study is made up of experts and elites of strategic management, who were chosen objectively. The collected quantitative data were analyzed through descriptive statistics and the Friedman rating test, and the qualitative data were analyzed through “interpretation” of the future educational scenarios and the “content analysis” of the mission statement of the faculties of the Supreme National Defense University and its Strategic Management Faculty. The innovation of the present study lies in its determination of response macro domains and the excellent score of the Strategic Management Faculty as well as its determination of major objectives of every single domain in the area of strategic management. The outcomes of the study are demonstrative that although rating the strategic intentions and response macro domains, i.e. education, social services, and ultimately production and renewing sciences, are all different, this difference is not meaningful given the disapproval of the hypothesis, and that the mentioned domains hold the same priorities when the level of significance stands at 95%.
